Sarongs have many uses: around the waist as a skirt, a bathing suit cover-up, a dress toga, curtains, a shawl or scarf, wall art, table cover, a turban or as fabric to make your own clothing.

Sarongs are known by many different names. The people Tahiti and Hawaii call them "Pareos", in the Southeast Asian countries it's called a "Surong", in India a similar garment is named "Sri" and in Africa they call it a "Kanga".
